ABOUT ME | Yiyi Zheng

WELCOME！

Hi! I’m Yiyi Zheng, an illustrator and designer, graduated from the University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts (BA Illustration) in 2017. Currently working as illustrator & designer for the cultural and creative products of Chinese traditional culture in Beijing, China.

After completing my studies, I started to use digital media and applications to finish my work. Mostly my artworks are finished by computer/tablet/ipad, (Photoshop or Illustrator). My drawing style are quite 'retro', cause I'm always interested in 'old things', ancient art style. Another element of my drawing method is the ‘flat and graphic’ characteristics. I prefer 2D style to 3D realistic style, which I believe was influenced by eastern art, such as Ukiyo-e or ancient Chinese style painting.

Generally my artworks can be divided into 3 sections:

【Children's Book】

I love storytelling, and I’m always interested in children illustration books. Among the various illustration book series I produced since my degree show, the illustrations I drew for "Hi! World"-a children’s science popularization illustration book, was published in 2019.

【Pattern】

I‘ve done so many patterns design so far. I love images with specific orders or gorgeous decorations. I guess the artworks from the Art Nouveau Period really inspired me a lot, their ornamental drawing style combined with rich colours deeply fascinates me till this days. You can see that in my works that usually feature multiple colours or lines inside.

【Character‘s Design】

Also I did some character designs these years, especially the animals. The "Lord Rabbit" series I drew based on the traditional Chinese culture elements were made into sculptures, and held a little exhibition for celebrating the Chinese New "Rabbit" Year, in China World Trade Center, Beijing.

郑依依，2017年本科毕业于伦敦艺术大学，坎伯韦尔艺术学院插画专业。毕业至今从事插画视觉设计以及文创产品设计相关的工作。

毕业后的作品多用板绘创作，Photoshop/Illustrator为主。整体绘画风格偏复古，细节丰富色彩浓郁；画法上比起立体写实，我更喜欢也更擅长偏图形化的2D平面风格，所以自己的作品也多用了平涂的方法。

【比赛】
